Working as the Senior Partner of BLawyers Vietnam, Mr. Thuyet has more than 27 years providing legal representation to corporations, non-profit organizations, and law firm clients. Mr. Thuyet is a practicing attorney with professional qualifications in independent planning, and management and representation of client legal matters in both arbitration and the courts. His areas of practice include domestic and foreign investment, corporate and commercial law, domestic and international commercial contracts, and dispute settlement (both in arbitration and at court proceedings). He has broad experience in practicing in civil law matters concerning labor and employment, civil contracts and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and international and domestic private law i.e., cross – border marriage and family, inheritance, and financial and civil transactions.

As a corporate lawyer and legal counsel for domestic and foreign investment, he has worked for a series of companies such as Invest Consult Group, Leton Investment & Consultancy Group, Uni-Bros Group, Sai Gon Paragon Corporation and Viet Nhat JSC. He has also worked as a local consultant and legal counsel for Hassall & Associates International and Coffey International Ltd. (1999 – 2003) through the Australian Agency of International Development (AusAID); and as a Program Manager for World Vision International (2003) and ORBIS International (2006) in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2006, he opened and became the Managing Partner of Tran & Associates Law Office in Ho Chi Minh City and Central Vietnam, Viet Nhat JSC, and worked for nearly 12 years as a Senior Associate at Phuoc & Partners Law Firm and then Global Vietnam Lawyers.

Mr. Thuyet graduated with a BS degree in medicine with honors from the Pasteur Medicine Institute (1983) and graduated in law with a JD degree from the Hanoi University of Law (1995). He completed a program management study at Chulalongkorn University (1996), a Joint Vietnam – Belgium Master’s degree in Development Economics (2002) and studied in urban community organization and management at the University of Philippines (2004). He has participated in many workshops and seminars on law, economics, and public health and program management in Vietnam and abroad.

Mr. Thuyet became a qualified lawyer in 1998 and has lawyer memberships in the Quang Nam Bar Association, Ho Chi Minh City Bar Associations and Vietnam Bar Federation. He was Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Quang Nam Bar Association from 2002 – 2007.

He is fluent in Vietnamese and English.
